My first artist’s book, Necrology, was published in 2021. It comprises photo portraits torn decades ago from obituaries in the New York Times, arranged in slyly humorous juxtapositions.
“Lawrence Levi does not tell us what death is in Necrology, nor what to do with our brief lives. What he does is give death a face—or more accurately, forty-six faces—to express just a bit of its mystery, its power, and its grim humor.” —Eric Morris-Pusey, Artists' Book Reviews
